Chris Saunders, Department of Historical Studies, University of Cape Town
Christopher Saunders (Humanities, Social Sciences and Education) is a graduate of the University of Cape Town, and Balliol and St Antony’s colleges, Oxford. He has been a visiting fellow at the University of Cambridge and at Yale. His research interests include the English revolution; pre-colonial societies of southern Africa; urban history; and the history of Namibia. He is an editor of the South African Historical Journal and is professor emeritus in history at the University of Cape Town.
